Owned by MTD, a family-run company out of Cleveland, Ohio, Yard Machines makes tillers for value-conscious consumers. From my experience, their rototillers are often just as good as anything from the top brands, but priced much more competitively.

Yard Machines Gas Tiller This low-end garden tiller is perfect for smaller jobs. Not everyone needs a $600 beast with six gears and car-size tires. This rototiller can dig a path anywheres from 6 to 10.25 inches wide depending on how you set the tines. It has a 2-cycle 1 HP engine and comes with a 2-year warranty. For those really small jobs, check out the Black & Decker GC818 cordless electric cultivator here. About the size of a weed whacker, the GC818 Black & Decker tiller is only suited for tiny jobs. But if thats all you need, you can buy one and save a lot of money.
