Troy-Bilt Tillers

Troy-Bilt makes a wide variety of outdoor equipment products. As far as tillers go, they make a number of high-quality rear-tine models. Though the company does make smaller rototillers, Troy-Bilt is best known for its heavy-duty tiller line. It produces a number of high-end models with tires, Briggs and Stratton or Tecumseh engines, and cast-iron transmissions.

Troy-Bilt 4-Cycle Gas Tiller

This 1.1 HP Troy-Bilt tiller is good for medium jobs. It has eight heat-treated tines that can both cultivate gardens and edge beds. It is relatively lightweight (but not as light at Mantis models), quiet, and comes with a 2-year warranty. However, its smaller tilling width means this rototiller won't be good for large areas.

Troy-Bilt Super Bronco

The Super Bronco is an excellent rear tine tiller for the money. Its 10-inch tines, cast-iron gear transmission, and 6 HP Tecumseh engine make it good for large gardens. It's an excellent compromise between the $1200 commercial models and the mid-size consumer rototillers. This Troy-Bilt tiller also comes with a lifetime warranty and has a rear shield guard for safety. Cuts to 6-inches.

Troy-Bilt Pony

The Pony is essentially an upgraded version of the Super Bronco Troy-Bilt rototiller. It has a slightly more powerful 6.5 HP engine and digs to 8 inches. The blades are 12 inches and tilling width is 16 inches. Designed for agricultural use, the tires are very durable.

Troy-Bilt Horse

When Troy-Bilt named this tiller the Horse, they weren't joking! This model boasts a 8 HP Briggs & Stratton engine that delivers 305 ft-lbs of torque. It's good for large jobs and areas where the soil has never been tilled. The Troy-Bilt rototiller cuts a 20" path up to 8" deep. As for as durability and reliability go, this is one of the best tillers Troy-Bilt offers.
